Why I Became an Advocate
The law is not merely a profession — it is a calling. I did not choose advocacy because it was practical or prestigious. I chose it because I believe, deeply and unshakably, that justice is not accidental. It is pursued.
My name is Adv R. Rink, and I stand before you not as a faceless legal functionary, but as a dedicated counsel who treats every case as if it were my own. Whether you are an employer navigating a labour dispute, a business owner drafting a critical contract, or an individual seeking redress — you deserve more than legal jargon. You deserve clarity, compassion, and a relentless advocate who will fight for you.
I am an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa, with a practice rooted in labour law, contract law and commercial litigation, serving Brits, Hartbeespoort, Madibeng and the wider North West. But my approach goes beyond statutes and precedents. I operate on a simple philosophy — Providentia · Ivstitia · Vincit. With Providence, Justice Prevails. This is not a tagline. It is a promise.
My qualifications and journey
My academic foundation was laid at the University of Cape Town, where I completed my BSocSc — an education that gave me a deep appreciation for the human dimensions of law. I went on to earn my LLB through the University of South Africa, which taught me discipline, self-reliance and the importance of rigorous legal research.
Recognising that effective advocacy requires more than legal knowledge alone, I also completed a Certificate in Project Management through the University of Pretoria — because your case deserves the same strategic rigour as any major enterprise. I have completed all professional training requirements through LEAD, including the Practical Vocational Training and Practice Management Training programmes.
My approach
I do not believe in intimidation or opacity. I believe in empowering you — explaining your rights in plain language, mapping out your options, and walking beside you every step of the way. Whether we are in a boardroom, a bargaining council or a courtroom, you will never stand alone.
I am also a trust account advocate in terms of section 34(2)(a)(ii) of the Legal Practice Act 28 of 2014, which means you may come to me directly. You do not need to appoint an attorney first and pay two professionals to do one job — you can instruct me yourself, and I can receive and hold funds in a trust account on your behalf. Where a matter genuinely needs an attorney alongside me, I will say so plainly.
